The first English Guidebook of Québec's newest climbing area.
Saint-Alph is the best cragging destination you'll find in the region. The approach is short, the base of most sectors is flat, shady and welcoming, and routes are varied in grades and styles. There are trad moderates that eat up gear, pumpy overhanging lines on big jugs, as well as heinous crimp fests up steep faces. There's even a cool little boulder field for the pebble crushers. It is not, however, an "outside gym." Some lines may feel a bit spicier than elsewhere in the region, and the grades a bit on the stiff side, especially if you aren't strong on crimps (if you are, everything will seem soft). Once you get used to the style of the place, you'll see that climbing at Saint-Alph is a whole lotta fun.
